Massive Events was set up in 2008 to be dedicated and to specialise in single fandom events such as Destination Star Trek. Building an amazing reputation for putting on amazing weekend events, Massive Events quickly established itself with the very popular Eternal Twilight events based on the Twilight books and films, that ran for a number of years attracting over 8,000 visitors. Stargate event Chevron is another event that became an event that is still loved by the fans, and was still running 10 years after the show ended is testiment to the fans who enjoyed the events.
In 2015 Massive Events took its biggest ever step by putting on the very successful Official Sherlock Convention - SHERLOCKED, an official event that was attending by Benedict Cumberbatch and many of the key names, including its creators Steven Moffat and Mark Gatiss. The success of that convention has led to two more events, including their first USA event in LA in May 2017 following the successful 50th anniversary Destination Star Trek Europe in 2016.
Showmasters Ltd is one of the worlds leading sci-fi and film related events companies, running specialised media culture events for over a decade. After many years retailing collectable memorabilia in their chain of stores around the country, friends Jason Joiner and Mark Woollard decided to run events for both collectors and fans alike.
In 2002 they started up Collectormania, an event where the general public could meet their film idols in person, and decided to run it in one of the country's busiest shopping centres in Milton Keynes. It soon became a world renowned event bringing major celebrities from film and television to sign autographs and meet the public. In 2004, when The Lord of the Rings was a worldwide phenomenon, they broke all records by bringing the stars of the film to the event, and the world's press descended on Milton Keynes along with 300,000 public!
Since then this free entry four day event has grown and has been joined by other Showmasters Ltd events such as the London Film and Comic Con, Europe's leading multi-media event in the heart of the Capital. It has become THE event of the year in most fan's diaries, attracting a wide mix of cosplayers, authors, artists, gamers, retailers and of course actors and celebrities. Now Showmasters Film & Comic Con events are in over 10 major UK cities, with European events being added this year starting with Amsterdam. Each year Showmasters Ltd works with thousands of stars including such household names as Micheal J. Fox, Christopher Lloyd, Sigourney Weaver, Bill Paxton, Stan Lee, Matt Smith, Sir John Hurt, Sir Michael Gambon, Burt Reynolds, Carrie Fisher, Robert Pattinson, Mike Tyson, David Tennant and Gillian Anderson plus lots more. They also work closely with such companies as 20th Century Fox, The BBC, Universal Pictures, Nintendo, Warner Bros, Summit Entertainment, E1 films and DC Comics to help promote the latest films and technologies.
Formed in 2003, Media 10 is a privately owned publishing and events company based in Loughton, Essex.
It currently employs approximately 200 staff and has fast become one of the leading players in the events industry as a result of the hugely successful Grand Designs Live exhibition, held twice a year in London and Birmingham and the successful revival of the Ideal Home Show, first founded in 1908 that Media 10 took over in 2009.
