Una McCormack is a New York Times bestselling author of more than a dozen science fiction and TV tie-in novels. Her Star Trek novels include The Crimson Shadow, The Never-Ending Sacrifice, Enigma Tales, Brinkmanship, and the forthcoming Star Trek: Discovery novel The Way to the Stars, which will focus on a young Sylvia Tilly.
Una is also the author of numerous novels and audio dramas within the Doctor Who universe. Her novels include Royal Blood, The Way through the Woods, The King’s Dragon, and the forthcoming Molten Heart, which stars the Thirteenth Doctor and the new TARDIS crew. Her non-franchise work includes two space operas from Abaddon Books, The Baba Yaga and The Star of the Sea, and a forthcoming novella from Tor.Com: The Undefeated, which has been called “a feminist High Plains Drifter… in space!”
Una is a lecturer in creative writing at Anglia Ruskin University, where she also co-directs the Centre for Science Fiction and Fantasy. In 2017, she was a judge for the Arthur C. Clarke Award, an annual prize for the best science fiction novel published in the UK. She is a regular broadcaster on local and national radio, talking about Doctor Who, Star Trek, JRR Tolkien, science fiction, and women’s writing.
