We are so excited to be bringing Destination Star Trek back to London ExCeL and have lots of fantastic Star Trek related content to bring you. Even though we are now coming out of the pandemic we all want to remain safe whilst having a good time back at the conventions we love so we wanted to talk to you about what modifications we are making to allow this to happen.
At ExCeL London, the health and wellbeing of everyone who visits is the number one priority. ExCeL have worked alongside the AEV (Association of Event Venues) to develop the All Secure Standard, an industry wide standard for the safe return of organised events.
- Proof of double vaccination
- Covid-19 antibodies
- or a negative lateral flow test (within the last 48-hours)
will be required to enter the site.
Please note, UK-based visitors can use their NHS Covid Pass, and international visitors, the equivalent from their country of origin.
Once in the building you can make your way to the North side to be registered for Destination Star Trek.
During the Event
You have been asking what restrictions will be in place within the event following the pandemic and we wanted to make sure we gave you the most up to date information. We are now in a position to be able to give this and the good news is, that once in the convention we do not expect your experience to be dramatically affected.
We recommend that you wear a face covering inside the venue, unless you are exempt. There will be increased cleaning schedules, hand sanitising stations and plenty of space to enjoy your visit. Guest signings will be taking place but please remember a fist or elbow bump is safer (and cooler) than handshaking, or a live long and proper salute may seem quite fitting giving the event.
Our DST policy for the photo shoots will be to not use screen dividers but we ask you to be respectful of contact while having your photo taken. Those who choose to wear a mask should do so up to the point that the photo occurs. After your photo shoot has finished you can reapply your mask. Should a guest require any alteration to this policy we reserve the right to change our setup per an individual guest request, so they feel comfortable with the process. But rest assured that face masks will not be required in the photos themselves.
We have spoken to all our guests, and they are very eager to meet their fans and celebrate all things Star Trek. We are so close to being together again with so many exciting activities on the way but until then, live long and prosper
